if fl studio was efficient, like it used to be, then writing music would not be a pain in the ass, it would be fun.
But the main issues here are...
1. With the increased power and memory available, plugin developers are getting slack, IMO. They all think their plugin is the only one that matters and they routinely will use 10-20% CPU for a single instance running 10 voices. There are Mastering plugins that will happily eat 30%.
Years ago developers used to obsess over every fraction of 1%. We even code FL Studio in Assembly to get the most out of it.
2. User expectations are raising and they are getting slack and expect they can throw 30+ plugins in a Mix and everything should perform flawlessly.
Mr Crafter, load one of your projects from 10 years ago. I promise you, it will run with a LOT less CPU.
BTW: You are welcome to use FL Studio 11, your license still works.
