Well. . . as someone that doesn't see color, I'd suggest an icon or an LED near the top. Color changes don't make much sense to me unless the track didn't already have a color assigned to it. It's a useful visual indicator of a potential cause of problems.

Besides all that, I can't see the difference between the active input color, and the default track color, so it hardly does me any good. I take notes to know what input is going where. An icon/arrow or an LED would be spectacular.
