Flanger Syncing

I'm kind of green with flanging, is there a way to have a flange end at a certain point, say have the flange cycle run through a 16 bar passage and then end precisely at the end of the 16th bar. I haven't been able to find any decent videos explaining this. Flange settings are a bit hard to figure out regarding where the flange cycle ends.
