Patcher Cut/Cut By

Hi,
I have a sampler vst inside Patcher.
And another sampler vst inside another Patcher.
I set one Patcher 'Cut', one 'Cut By'.
Sequence in step sequencer.
Cut no workie.

Is a Peak Controller type solution my only option here or am I missing something?
