long saving times..

i have autosave set to save my project all 10 minutes and it literally freezes my screen every 10min for 10sec+... is there anything i could do make this process not as long?

Im on iMac with the best possible processor and 64GB of RAM, so it should be acceptable to work with templates that have some plugins preloaded no?
