Load this wav into Edison and either do
- 'Normalize all regions' from the menu or
- Right-click the highlighted button in the picture to 'Normalize regions'
But right-clicking doesn't do anything.
Only when you first normalize e.g. region #1 and then 'normalize regions', it actually does normalize.
The manual states this:
Doesn't [Normalizes ... on a per-region basis] mean that it's normalizing every region by itself? Independent of other regions?!Normalize all regions - Normalizes the amplitude on a per-region basis. Normalization increases the volume of the waveform so that the loudest sample is at 100% of the available amplitude.
As you can see in this video (with another wav file) it also clearly does not behave like normal 'Normalize' (different waveform!) on a single region:
- I 'Normalize'
- then 'Undo'
- and then 'Normalize regions'
So, what does 'Normalize (all) regions' actually do?
