Decided to have a play with Riff Machine in 20.5 and it seems like this is broken. Fit to scales bears no relationship to my understanding of music theory. Has something gone AWOL? It also seems impossible to get anything useful out of Riff Machine - I'm feeling a little puzzled.
Solution: Something had gone AWOL - the transpose was set at +1! No idea how or why. Fixed that and it now works,
