Hardware inserts and routing

I'm starting to invest in external hardware.

I'm routing D/A to A/D manually using FL's I/O, but was wondering if you'll be developing an insert option, i.e., a plugin type insert that'll allow me to place my hardware route within a plugin chain, as opposed to at the end or beginning of an entire track? I'm aware that other DAWs can do this.

Also, is it possible to globally change the name of the audio ins/outs? I currently have the default names:
Analogue 1 - Analogue 2
Optical 1 - Optical 2
etc.

It would be awesome to change these to match my hardware routing - will help stop me creating dangerous feedback loops!!!!!!!
