Playlist Patterns Stacking on Top of each other

Hey guys,

I have come across this irritating issue in the playlist.

When I want to make a loop selection, the loop selection also selects all the clips in the playlist.

Sometimes if I select the clips and press shift either by mistake or to copy them over to duplicate
the whole playlist arrangement will copy on to itself.

This ruins my whole workflow because when i have put in hours into the arrangement i can end up with sometimes four patterns stacked on top of each other, which basically makes the song a waste of time.

I have read other posts on this issue and i understand that i can just not press shift, but is there a definite way or setting to not let clips or patterns stack on each other,
