Right Shift vs Left Shift - Hotkey Question

Ctrl-A Stretching tool - I was reading the manual and it says:

After making a selection the Stretch Handle appears. You can click and drag this to stretch the selected notes. Hold the (Alt) key to apply snap settings. Alternatively, hold (Right-Shift) key then click on the right-side of a note in the group and drag.

Can you tell me, is something different happening when you hold (Right-Shift). For me when there is a selection it makes no difference if I hold it or release it. However when there is no selection, and I'm using the Shift key to snap the entire chord while left click dragging a note in that chord, this does use snap settings. But its not only Right Shift, but also Left Shift. Unless I'm missing what is meant by "Right Shift".
