Recently I've bought some outboard fx to run my synths through. Now I have a hard time to get everything exactly synced in real time. When I turn OFF the automatic delay compensation in the mixer, it actually IS exactly on the grid. But then whenever I add plugins which introduce delay I obviously get in trouble...
So I probably am doing something wrong, OR the FL Studio latency compensation is broken?? (I guess it's the first option).
So this is my setup simplified:
Track 1 input from outboard drum machine.
I have manually set the input latency (offset) to 2,21 ms. This is perfectly in sync with the metronome (which is put on mixer track 120, in order to make this delay compensated as well).
Then I want to route this through an analog distortion module. I have a bus that's routed to the distortion, so I can route multiple channels to it.
So I set Track 125 audio output to the distortion.
So in order to run mixer track 1 through the distortion, I route it to track 125 only (master bus turned off).
Track 2 input is the "return" of the distortion. Again with manual input latency to 2,21 ms. But whatever I do, I can't seem to get this input in sync with the metronome.
Is this even possible what I'm trying? Whenever I turn of the automatic latency compensation, it is nearly perfect. Why does the automatic latency compensation make it worse?
