Dynamics - How do you compose within FL Studio?

Hi there.

I am relatively new to FL Studio. I compose generally orchestral music and using Audio Imperias Nucleus Library as a starter which is great fun. While learning how to use FL Studio i stumbled upon a little question and would be glad if you could help me with your experience.

If i want to give each instrument Dynamics (Crescendo, Decrescendo, etc.) which way is the best to program it in FL?
I see several different ways in Youtube Tutorial Videos. Some composers are using automation clips controlling the volume, others „paint“ directly into the clip with the pencil tool to fine tune the differences in dynamics, velocity and volume.

What is the or YOUR proven way of changing dynamics on instruments from Kontakt Libraries?
What advantages and disadvantages do you see in using automation clips or painting with the pencil?
Are there any good plugins helping with this task?

Thx so much for your advice, help and tips!

Manuel
