Keeps scanning my sample folder

Hey guys,

I have 1 extra folder configured in the Browser window. It's my Sample Folder with all of my drumkits. I am on a Mac and the Sample Folder is located on my external SSD (formatted to Mac OS Journaled).

FL keeps hanging on me when I work on a project. In the middle of me working on a project, it hangs for like 2 seconds and I can see "Scanning External SSD/Sample Folder..." in the upper left corner. I can't remember this happening a few weeks ago, I also haven't updated FL in a while. I am using FL 20.6.2.

Any idea what could cause this? I have had a similar issue on my windows PC with NI Kontakt. Whenever I had Kontakt instances loaded, it kept saying something like "Saving Kontakt..." in the upper left corner and my FL would hang for a few (approx. 2) seconds.
