Help with automating GMS fx

Hi, im a pretty inexperienced FL Studio user, and im having trouble automating the various fx for gms (ie. trance, lpf, distortion). I'm creating automation clips for the X and Y parameters of the specific effects but they only count as X and Y parameter automations for whichever effect I have currently selected, not the ones I created them for, and any new X or Y parameter automation will override old ones for other effects and only apply to the one effect selected. How can I automate the various effects so the automations work simultaneously for the effects i make them for? Please help and TIA
