As the pandemic continues and here in South America things are not really improving, I could not think of anything more than a sequel to the previous contest.
Quarantine 2: Pandemic Boogaloo
I was chosen by our group of survivors to go in search of provisions.
In my long walk I find the headquarters of Starsabre Industries, everything has been destroyed and looted.
There are no more stock samples, but I find a lot of paper files and old audio magazines.
Photos of old gadgets appear in the magazine. 808 and 909 ... yes, I remember those. I import them into my HARMOR machine and I get a bunch of samples
It's all we have for drums.
But what is this that I found? ... two photos, one of what appears to be an x-ray and another one, something strange ... a nipple? My research suggests that it really is the photo of Professor Audiosabre's nipple, head of Starsabre Industries. I put these two photos in my AMAZING HARMOR machine and this is what I got.
It's not much, but it's something. We will make it.
May GOL help us all
Rules per project:
1- Only FL synths and effects are allowed
2- Only 4 effects per channel(I'm being generous).
3- Drums must be done only with 808 and 909 samples from FL stock samples(packs/drums). Nothing more(resample is allowed, see rule 7)
4- At least one of the samples from the Audiosabre photos must be used(samples.rar), mandatory. Be creative, don't just put it there as an audio sample
5- Since this is pandemic boogaloo, you must use the "boogaloo rhythm" (basically a breakbeat) in some way. On a bridge, a chorus, verse, whatever. At least once.
6- NO STOCK SAMPLES, only those mentioned for drums
7- Resample is allowed, but the process must be included in the project or as a separate project which must also comply with the rules.
8- You can record your own samples and use them for whatever you want
9- Tracks must be at least 2 minutes
As usual, participants must provide an mp3 or a soundcloud or youtube link or whatever they have that we can all listen to, along with the project files in .zip format (export to zip)
The contest ends on June 12 at 11:59 p.m.
