Does sustain pedal not work when using FL as a vst plugin?

I'm trying to play some of the nice sounds in Flex through the sequencer in Presonus Studio One V5. It works perfectly other than the sustain pedal doesn't do anything. I know that the pedal is working because other vst instruments sustain just fine. I can see the little knob controller icon light in the top left of FL but nothing happens. Selecting "foot pedal controls note off" has no effect, probably because thats for when you are sequencing in FL direct. I'm just curious if it's just not possible at this time. If not it makes FL significantly less useful as a plugin for me.
