Problems adding patterns

Hi, I am totally new to FL. I am creating patterns and adding them to my song. I have two questions. Why when I click a pattern and select group via the context menu it collapses all the patterns, and that I can see there is no way to expand them again. I have tried double clicking and looked for something in the context menu but it keeps happening. Second, why when I make two patterns and delete the chosen sounds on the channel rack from the second blank pattern do they delete from my first patterns channel rack too? Thanks!
