Consolidating does unwanted unmuting

I have 2 major issues with consolidating and here are my thoughts on how to fix:

1: consolidating unmutes previously muted content.
When u have say a bunch of clips muted in a playlist track, and u select a certain area where there's unmuted clips u wanna consolidate,
what consolidating does is it drops the consolidated audio in a new playlist track on top and groups with the original playlist,
and here's the problem , it UNMUTES the clips that were previously muted. This is a huge annoyance, ever since consolidating is introduced.

imo this doesn't make any sense. Please just make the consolidated audio either overwrite the original content in the same playlist track,
or add it in a new playlist track but leave the original playlist track untouched. Or at least give us the option to choose which way.

2: after consolidating ALL screens pop back up, and in a big project this takes a huge amount of time, plus a lot of clicking to just get back to the playlist.
