SP- 404as an fx passthrough with FL

I have a macbook > interface M-Audio preamp > SP 404. The SP runs RCA line outs to a 1/4" input on the interface and the interface runs a 3.5mm headphone out to the RCA inputs on the SP. I can tell that the SP is seeing/receiving the sound from FL as the screen lights up and changes colors when a sound is played on FL. I am using FL 20 btw.

I am looking to use the fx from the SP as a passthrough for tracks/channels on FL studio. I'm assuming that I can hit record on FL, play the track I want to apply my fx to, do magic on the SP, then end recording (unless I am missing a simpler way to do this?).

From what I've read - on the FL mixer, I have insert 10 having the output as the interface, and insert 11 having the interface as the input. I then send insert 11 to the master. I believe the issue is somewhere here, but I can't get it to work. I have the channel in FL that I want to apply the fx to targeted to mixer insert 10.

I'm attaching two pictures - one showing insert 10 and the output and and insert 11 with it's input and it being sent to the master. In both you can see that the track in FL has insert 10 applied to it.
