VST sending cpu load up to 80 (sytrus)

Hi I am currently making a beat and was looking for sounds to use. I opened sytrus and threw a melody into the piano roll. When it was playing it crackled horrendously half way through and almost blew my speakers. I then realised the cpu load was pushing to almost 100. I have allow threaded processing on, safe overloads, and have messed with the buffer settings but that doesn't stop the cpu overload. I am using a 2020 Mac book pro macOS 11.0 Big Sur
Apple M1 chip
RAM: 8 GB / Storage: 256 GB SSD
