yep , fully agree with Jason GreeneJason Greene wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 3:55 amIt's not intuitive at all. That's the problem
The "consolidation" atrocity feature is unusable because I am constantly always re-editing and tinkering about with sound design and to always have to "un-consolidate" and then unmute to re-render is extremely tedious. That's 3 steps to take every time I want to quickly change something or edit something. Also to be honest, I feel like (just like I mentioned above) rendering as audio clip with the dialog menu is a very old way of doing things and not logical at all. If a 14 year old kid is learning fl studio and they come across consolidation feature, they would probably say amongst themselves "this is so stupid, why do I have to do 5 different steps in order to do one thing? Why isn't this process more simplified and straightforward and intuitive and easy as just one click?"
consolidation takes too many steps, and yes, when mixing - constant changes have to be done and with this system it`s not intuitive and takes too much time
Ableton is just better in this, freeze and flatten system works for user there, something similar should`ve been done here in FL already
right now the best what we can do is to optimize system settings, set buffer size at maximum, use switch smart disable for all plugins in FL , render all playlist tracks and then do mixing
not sure if it`s ok when there`s need to do change in 1 track and how to reverse it in this workflow but...pros and cons
user is really overloaded with too many settings here in FL, to many clicks, and experienced user will choose wisely if he/she wants to spend *overtime * with working in FL or he/she switches into another DAW when mixing and mastering
please , reconsider structure of consolidation, best what we can do here is consolidate track in same mixer slot with all fx / reversible action /
so midi to audio / audio back to midi with all settings / it just saves our time and makes CPU optimization very user friendly
EDIT
Studio one uses this system
point is to optimize CPU, user friendly mixing and mastering
would`ve been gamechanger in FL
