THE PLAYLIST ....RECORDING ISSUES

Hello,

I am trying to record a beat in the channel rack into the playlist. I need a clip that is 1 hour long, but it plays the clip and records it and each time it plays it all the way thru, it drops down to another track in the playlist. The pattern is only 3 seconds long. How do i ghet it to record to be an hour long and on the same track in the playlist?
