How to make new recorded patterns stick to instrument track?

Searched the forum and the manual but didn't find anything on this... How can I make the recorded patterns stick to the tracks that are assigned in the playlist?

More specifically, I have a default template that has all my synths in F5, and I have assigned instrument tracks to each one in F6. I choose a new pattern, record some midi, and the new pattern will go to a random track in F6. I would not only like the new midi pattern automatically be sitting on the according track in F6, but also have a new sub-track be created where the new pattern will be on (ideally switchable, so that I can choose if the new sub track is created or everything is put on the same track).

Can someone help me? Thanks...
