How to allign effect plugins to numbers, to open them fast?

Hey, Ive seen a video where the guy taught you how to adjust effect plugins to numbers, so when u select one in the mixer plugin menu, u dont have to scroll though all them with your mouse, but simply pressing a number. The guy in the video showed this somehow by going in the windows files. I dont remember and dont find anything on youtube.
