Monthly Contest | FLEX General MIDI | May 2021

Hello everyone!

Since Mevdik - the winner of the last contest - wasn't aware of the fact that the winner hosts the next round, the contest council decided that I should host the next one since I was runner-up. Of course I will! I've had an idea in mind for a while, but I decided that this one was more fun and more accessible to more people. So, I present: The FLEX General MIDI contest!

The rules of this contest are very simple.

1. Create a track of any genre. Minimum length 1:30, maximum length 5:00.
2. Provide your entry as mp3 either uploaded to this website or soundcloud or something similar.
3. Provide the flp of your entry. No zipped looped packages.
4. You can ONLY use sounds from the General MIDI pack from FLEX.
5. You may NOT use the mixer, except the master channel. Any type of mixing needs to be done in either FLEX or using the Wrapper's functions.
6. You're allowed to use Fruity Limiter or Maximus to give your track some loudness.
7. Automation clips are allowed. Audio clips are obviously not. It's all MIDI, baby.
8. You can use A MAXIMUM OF 10 INSTANCES OF FLEX.
9. Have fun!

Deadline is set at Friday May 28th 11:59pm CET (That's 09:59 GMT) after which there will be 3 days of voting.

I'm giving you a lot of power with this kit, even though it doesn't seem much at first. I'm sure there will be wonderful entries!
