Exporting sustain/pedal info in MIDI?

I'm writing a piece in the Piano Roll for piano. I want some of the notes held longer and others to stop as soon as the note ends. Of course I can do this with the ADSR envelope for the instrument and use an automation clip if necessary to apply it differentially. But programming individual notes like that is a pain, and if this were a real piano I could also easily achieve what I need with the sustain pedal. And there's already standard music notation for pedal, and MIDI understands pedal (you can buy MIDI pedals) and common programs like MuseScore can represent that. So I'd rather do it with pedal than the ADSR envelope so I can export it as a MIDI file to a notation program. How do I add pedal to notes in the Piano Roll?
