Unable to edit velocity levels of imported retrowave high hat sample?

Ok, I am a casual FL Studio user but I want to start composing retrowave music, so I have been getting more serious about understanding the program better. Please excuse me for being noob. I recently imported a bunch of free retrowave kits into FL Studio 20 and I have been having no issues dragging them into the playlist and adding fx to the snares such as reverb after routing these imported sounds to the mixer. I am now trying to create a more dynamic high hat rhythm by changing the velocity hits, but I noticed that everything is grayed out and I am unable to edit anything?

I usually would just use the default sounds that come with FL Studio, so the velocity editing window would never be grayed out, so this is the first time I have run into this issue. I assume it is probably a really easy fix and I apologize for asking such a basic level question.
