I noticed that each daw ( reaper, cubase, protools, fl studio, mixcraft, adobe audition, studio one)
all of these daws have a system for measuring bars and beats. basically, 4/4 time in music. or, if the time signature is adjusted, then the system changes to match.
but I am wondering if there is a name for this kind of "decimal" naming.
like:
1|........1.2|........1.3|........1.4|........2|........2.2|........2.3|........2.4|........3|
I want to learn a bit more about how wave files are put together and I have been exploring sequencing events on a highly zoomed in level. lots of detail....128th notes in cubase. I want to try to "modularly" link a few of these daws together by mixing the asio output of multiple daws at once and linking the playback via midi or possibly figuring out if I can learn programming....
some direction on this would be good
but yeah, I know these bars and beats are not organized according to decimals, so why it it labelled 1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 ...2, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 etc?
