I've seen a lot of tutorials regarding compression and saturation and heard a lot about technical terms like threshold, ratio, ceiling etc., but I still don't know when to apply which setting to what and why. I'm somewhat of a slow learner regarding theoretical information and it all sounds like rocket science to me. I tend to fiddle around with these settings, make everything for the worse and finally disabling the whole thing because I don't really understand the correlations.
What I really need are practical examples to follow, many at best, to show me what everything does in practice.
Does anybody know such tutorials? I can't stand anymore tutorials telling me theoretically how many decibels are gained with what setting but still not explaining to me how to use them by myself.
