How to click patterns in the playlist without accidentally moving them slightly

So I've been running into a small issue where I'll want to click a pattern in the playlist to look at / edit it in the channel rack, and sometimes I'll end up accidentally sliding it a tiny amount off the grid with my click and it'll be slightly off time but I might not notice until later.

I have been instead clicking the little piano roll button next to the pattern to open up the pattern menu and then clicking "edit pattern" instead, as this will ensure that the pattern does not move. This is of course a tiny bit more of a hassle to do.

So I was wondering how other people deal with this issue of clicking the pattern in the playlist worrying about whether or not you moved it slightly out of place. Really all I'm trying to do is navigate to that particular pattern in the channel rack without having to search through all my patterns.
