this whole thing shakes my trust in the company and has me deeply considering another DAW which angers me because of my limited budget. To me integrity is far more important than creativity, I for one had found those loops and had no idea that they were "provided" by Deadmau5. In fact I had never heard of him until I purchased FL.
This is what's found in the license and release form for those submitting songs for Deckadance .
granted this is for complete songs and so obviously not for my use... but ... if IL takes measures to protect themselves and not us, the ones giving our $ to IL, that is completely outrageous. IL has a responsibility to either protect via licensing or CLEARLY warn by BOTH documentation and the placement of the resource into a demo folder.2. Grant of License. You hereby unconditionally and free of all third party rights, claims and encumbrances
grant to IL a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable, sublicensable
license to reproduce (permanent or temporary, by any means and in any form, in part or in whole), adapt,
prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and exploit Your Contributions
and such derivative works and adaptations. Except for the license granted herein to IL, You reserve all
right, title, and interest in and to Your Contributions.
IL please answer this... and please answer well ... I prefer FL and would like to continue to prefer IL.
