Late Recordings

Hi, I have a problem with recording in FL Studio. Whenever I try to record audio there is a very notable latency. I have a decent laptop, I'm using the ASIO driver and my buffer is set to 256smp, so I don't know where this problem is coming from. I tried adding manual latency to the vocal mixer, but it's very difficult to work with and I tend to irreparably screw up otherwise decent recordings.

Any advice is much appreciated; I'm trying to learn vocal mixing and this is making it a lot harder then it needs to be.
