Ableton's stretch algorithms vs FL - questions... IL?

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know why Ableton's stretch algorithms can be tweaked in real time and there's basically 0 lag whenever you make some changes to their parameters?

How is that almost all FLs algorithms need to recalculate every time you tweak one of their knobs?

Looks like Ableton's algorithms act like some kind of granulizer. Is this the reason why it works in real time?
Or is it because it handles/loads audio files in a different way? (Temp files?)

Would a new Sampler solve these issues? (Dunno, Sampler 2, with granular capabilities and new algorithms?)

I always thought was obvious that the algorithm has to recalculate the whole waveform every time, and that there's no way around that lag, but once I realized this can be done in real time on other daws I was like....

So what's the difference here?

I'd love to be able to have some similar algorithm to make all those awesome futuristic/robotic timbres directly on audio clips on the playlist without having to wait each tweak to be calculated.

I'd like to hear your thoughts about that.

There are 2 realtime timestretch modes in FL St...
