Bizarre external synth behavior

Hello,

I have a Prophet Rev2 and I am having a hell of a time getting it working in FL. I am using MIDI Out and able to listen to it fine, record it fine...with one problem...

The second I hit record or stop/start, the synth sounds insane. It sounds like very weirdly pitched or something. If I switch to the next preset on the synth and back again, it's fine...but this is obviously a pain in the ass.

Any clue what could possibly be happening here? I'd like to avoid using another DAW to record this thing...seems insane
