FL 20.9 - Recording vocals workflow flaw

Hey guys,

First of all, I'm super happy with the FL Studio 20.9 updates. I love the new recording workflows introduced.. Partly!

In previous FL Studio versions, we'd record an audio track and it would be linked to the master channel / no mixer channel by default. Meaning you'd have to manually link it to a mixer track after recording, but you could listen to it right away.

FL Studio 20.9 now automatically places the recorded audio clips to the actual recording channel. Which seems great, but when you're recording instruments / vocals, you're mostly going to mute the channel (by disabling the send to the master) because you don't want to hear yourself twice, nor do you want to hear yourself through the mixer track which induces latency.

If you want to play back your recording straight away, it's linked to a muted mixer channel. Meaning you have to manually go ahead and link the audio track to a new mixer channel, or un-mute the mixer channel.

Have any of you found workarounds for this? Maybe where the recorded audio either connects to no mixer channel like the older FL Studios, or a specific one of your choosing?

I know it might seem like I'm looking for problems, but with some workflows I'm having with recording artists I'm working with, this new update really slows down the process of easily laying down quick vocal takes. In a professional context these things do matter a lot. It's affecting my work, so here I am.. Haha.

Anyways thanks for your time, I'd love to know the solutions you guys use for this!

I'm on Windows 10, using the direct monitoring of my Focusrite Clarett 8pre during the recording process to let the artists hear their own voice.
