Can't Hear/Use Default Plugins

When I first downloaded FL Studio a few months ago, I ran into issues with the file path being incorrect and because of that, the default plugins were not working. I reset everything back to the default settings (even though they were never changed to begin with) but once I updated the program to 20.9, it seems I am running into the same problem. I tried resetting the file path again but this time, it didn't fix the issue. Instead of seeing a little file folder next to each sound, there is a gear. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software entirely, but I had no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this?
