Hi gang!
First of all I'd like to share how impressed and amazed I am with FL Studio, I just picked up the complete edition after a short trial run and yeah, quite impressed with all the provided features!
I'm an Ableton Live user so my main focus is using FL Studio as a VST plugin. While I can easily play different instruments I can't manage to record any MIDI data into the FL Studio sequencer while using the plugin. So now I'm wondering if there's something I am overlooking?
For the record I'm familiar with the right procedure => right click record, make sure "notes" is enabled, make sure the instrument ("generator") is enabled and then click the pattern you want to use. Enable record, start the transport (I have this automated) and start playing.
It works flawlessly when I'm using FL Studio stand-alone, but as soon as I use the plugin then plays the instrument like normal but somehow doesn't record anything into the sequencer.
Obvious question: what am I overlooking or doing wrong here?
Thanks in advance for any feedback you guys can give me.
PS
Obviously I checked the manual prior to asking, however that only reflects on controlling FL Studio using MIDI messages (setting up automation), but doesn't go into much further detail about recording.
