- open a new empty project
- drag a WAV sample from the Browser into the Playlist
- by default it'll be under "Audio" in the Channel Rack, change it to another filter group
- save + reopen the project, you'll see that the WAV sample in question is back to the "Audio" filter group, and the new filter group name will be in the list, but have nothing in it
What I did (same as what you did, normally):
1. Drag wav file to the PL in an empty project.
2. Put the sample in a new filter group ("123").
3. Save the project (visible filter is "All").
4. Reopen the project.
The channel is still in the "123" group at that point.
