Well, do note that this was teased by Scott more than a year ago.
As they were still "testing the waters" if I remember correctly.
Obviously things will be even better now...

They are (most likely) aware people at least want a dark and a light theme.
I don't see why Scott would tease something if we're not going to get it...
That would only lead to disappointment.
