Oh, you mean powechords. 8)

People coming from synths etc often struggle with guitar mixing at first as there are a lot more fluctuations/resonances/imperfections etc.

It's obviously sound, style, and song dependent but in general cuts in the lower mids c200-400hz and cuts in the high mids c2000-5000khz are the order of the day.

Also, like any other instrument, if you want to layer them then it's of course best to differentiate the sound - different amp/amp sim, different guitar etc, and of course different recording (or in the case of sample guitar, randomization of notes of both level and position)

Not sure what you mean about the bass? There's nothing intrinsically wrong with bass chords (you'll get no argument from Mr 6 string bass here of all people :lol: ), but for basic rock stuff with guitar powerchords your bass will usually be sticking to the root notes and basic scales.
