I record a lot of vocals from many singers, and the way I'm doing this is just getting tedious and annoying. Here's how I work:
1 Make playlist track audio track
2 Set punch in/out markers
3 Press play and let them sing
4 Stop song
5 Disable punch in
6 Let them hear their recording
7 Delete/keep/mute their recording
8 Re-enable punch in
9 Rinse and repeat step 2-8
Is there a quicker way to enable/re-enable punch in time markers than right clicking on it and setting to none, then right clicking again and setting to punch-in?
Another speed bump is when I want to re-route the recording's mixer track. If you move an audio track on the playlist to a different spot in the audio-track group, the playlist automatically reroutes the track to the original. Then I have to keep going back and forth routing and rerouting every time I move the track on the playlist.
Surely there are more efficient ways of recording for my situation. Any thoughts?
What's wrong with my recording workflow?
