Headphones help/questions

Hi, I own the Autio Technica ath m40x and I find them to be ok. My question is does anyone own this pair and also own other pairs of headphones? If so how do they compare to other brands? I am looking to buy another pair at some point but don't know if I really need another pair or not. I was also thinking of getting an open back pair of headphones as well if anyone knows what a good pair may be.
