How to loop record multiple takes?

Hi there!

Is there a way to loop record different "takes" without overwriting or hearing the previous takes when loop recording a new one? Say I have a base melody I want to record something on top of. I'd like to be able to try recording different melodies over and over and over again and have it all be recorded so that I can return to it and keep what I liked. As far as I can tell, there are buttons for "Loop recording" and "Blend recording". But this overwrites my previous take and I can hear it, which is disturbing when trying to make something new. I believe I saw someone do this with voice recording, where every loop created a new pattern I think. This allowed the singer to do many versions of that specific part of the song which he could return to and review. I basically want this but with my MIDI input :D

I'm very much a noob so I hope I make myself clear. :)

Thanks,
Martin
