Could sliders and knobs show real values?

It would help a lot if sliders and knobs could show and accept relevant data value, like a volume knob shows +/÷ dB or automation shows the value of the actual filter value of a cut-off filter.

I have no idea how difficult this would be, it is just an inquiry.
