Piano Roll drum sequencer question, Please help

I will try to explain this as best as I can, and I thank anyone in advance for trying to help. It's my first time using a forum and I think I'm following the rules. I'm sorry if I can't figure out how to communicate too. OK, here we go....

How do I use the paint drum sequencer tool, in the piano roll section, in flstudio, to go up and/or down while I paint in notes? I've been trying to get the notes I paint in to go up and down cuz I like making unique drum patterns, but everytime the notes I paint in, just go in a straight line on the original note I started with.

To anyone who has seen this, please answer with as much detail as you can or attach a helpful video link to youtube, or whatever it might be. Thank you.
