Since I own an Akai MPD16, I love working with the FPC. Recording drums and experimenting with them got really easy with it.
But sometimes when I'm feeling lazy I just want to mess around with the simple step sequencer again like I did before getting the MPD. But I also don't want to lose the ability to play the drums with the MPD if I change my mind again.
So I thought about a way to trigger the MPC pads using layers, and here it is. Maybe some of you find it as useful as I do.
Depending on the controller and FPC template you use, you might have to change the key zones of the layers. Bank 2 of the MPD is not covered, but you could easily add corresponding layers yourself.
The layers are zipped in this template so they don't take away too much space if you use only some of the pads. Just right-click the layer you want to edit to show the steps.
