Need some help with Automation clips on Demo

I'm not sure if automation clips are included on the demo, but it would be very helpful if someone could help me.

I have some trouble with basically the whole thing

I select Automation clips and slide and i make a box in the area down there.

I read the manual and it said to slide my mouse while holding down the left button to select a point and like drag a line or something.
When i do that it just makes more boxes and with the right button it just deletes it.

Can someone tell or show me how to make these automation clips that control the volume of one pattern?
