synthesizer randomization?

I don't know if anyone can help me with this but it has happened to me on several different softsynths, and most recently in the Wasp. What happens is there is a randomization of an effect, usually seeming to be the cut off frequency. I will have written a bar and the sound changes in different spots every time. I cannot figure out what parameter to change... Has anyone else ever had this "problem"? I don't really like this unpredictable quality.
