I'm just getting started with Sytrus, so I've been reading the manual and messing around a bit. I'm having trouble understanding how the modulation matrix works in this. Here is my setup:
1. Load defaults
2. Set OP 2 freq ratio to 0.0030
3. Set OP 2 shape to square
4. Set row 1 column 2 dial to the maximum
Maybe I don't remember my frequency modulation properly, but I would have expected that the output would be a sinusoid that jumps between two frequencies, as the amplitude of the square wave goes up and down. Instead I get a constant sine wave with clicks on the transitions of the square wave.
If I change OP 2 to a triangle wave, I get the output I would have expected from the square wave, which is the output being a sinusoid that jumps between two frequencies.
Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just misremembering FM modulation?
