can't see my wave sample in my playlist after dragging

i was able to just drag a sample wave file straight from the borrower on to my playlist and start editing or what ever..
now i drag my sample or wave file on the my playlist and nothing happens can't even play the sample or see it ...
WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ???????????? : :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
